Not extending the GOR is good for Texas and OU

It's not necessarily good for any other Big 12 member, particularly schools like Baylor and Iowa State that may be most at risk of being left in the cold if the Big 12 breaks up. Unless OU gets ticked off at Texas the way Nebraska and A&M did, OU will not likely move unless it is pretty sure Texas is moving. Texas is going to do what is best for Texas. Unless Texas pursues the Big Ten (where it would be a geographical and cultural misfit), I just don't see Texas being happier anyplace but in the conference where it now rules the roost --- so long as the money is close.

I have referred to myself as Mountaineer by birth, Hokie by choice. I grew up in West Virginia and, if you do, you grow up following WVU. I attended Tech, am a Hokie Club member and was once the sports editor of the Collegiate Times. Covered Frank Beamer's first season as the big whistle. So I'm definitely a Hokie fan. Went to law school at William & Mary and returned to West Virginia to practice . . . though I'm looking to leave on my next career move. I have two stepsons who attend WVU. I've had season tickets for football at both schools most years since the early to mid 1990s.
